Poor communication

Poor communication related to family regards their family members reduced food and beverage consumption. It is believed they also have staffing problems. Also a concern for poor supervision of residents, a possible personal safety issue. I really liked the walking activity they were doing and was a nice facility. I did find the wings to be long and could easy become disoriented as a new person. Overall I found the place not very and comfortable.

The staff is extremely friendly and the aides that take care of my dad are wonderful. Like every situation there are pros and cons. It is hard to compare to other facilities. I would find it hard to 100% recommend this to anybody but not other what other alternatives are out there. That being said I am not 100% satisfied with the overall facility especially the communication after my dad moved in. He has had some really bad experiences that were not addressed as I would expect. They will tell you just about anything to fill a bed. They charge a lot for basic room and board. Residents can shower /bathe only twice a week.

Would recommend

A lot of confusion about what personal items were needed and the receptionist often called with a list from the resident before checking with staff. my aunt usually stayed more in her room

Relieved we found a safe home.

I would recommend following a checklist to compare all communities visited. We chose Brookdale for a couple of reasons. We had previous interactions with one of the staff as she worked for my dad's previous place of residence. And secondly it worked out for me as I sometimes work on that side of town so I could stop by and visit
