★★★★★
PositiveThe staff welcomed my aunt into her new environment and made sure she was introduced to others at her same level of cognitive impairment. Everyone from administration to janitorial staff made an effort to greet her and make her feel at home. For her family, their continuing efforts to keep us informed about her integration into the community, habits and needs in her new environment, and plans for her care helped reassure us this was the right place for our loved one.
★★★★★
PositiveGreat staff. Very nurturing. Rooms a bit small but my mom is comfortable and doesn't seem to mind the size. I would recommend it to others who are searching for a place for their loved one.

PositiveOur mother lived at Brookdale Johnson City for 3 years until her passing in June, 2024. The staff provided caring support as her needs increased, and she was treated like family by her caregivers. We appreciated the open lines of communication we had with the Executive Director, nursing staff, activities staff, and caregivers. The grounds are inviting, and we enjoyed seeing the flowers bloom through the seasons. Having a facility like Brookdale Johnson City close to us helped alleviate our worries about her levels …

CriticalMy father was an insulin dependent diabetic whom I was told was healthy. A very sugary supplemental drink was added to his meals three times a day. My dad became more and more ill and no one contacted his doctor or me after seeing soaring daily blood glucose values such as 350 and 490. My dad died a painful agonizing death 17 days later. The staff is utterly incompetent.
Response from the communityWe take your comments seriously and thank you for speaking with our district representatives regarding your concerns.

PositiveMy dad has been living at Brookdale Johnson City on the memory care side since April 2023. All of the staff we have encountered are caring and supportive of both residents and caregivers. There are daily activities and occasional special outings for the residents that are able to participate. Inviting atmosphere, does not have an institutional feel at all. Most importantly, my dad is very happy and has made new friends and enjoys the food and activities.
