About the community
At Brookdale Leawood State Line, residents have access to enriching memory care programming, dementia-friendly activities, specialized menus, and a plethora of perks and amenities. To fully simplify your days, staff members regularly assist with meal preparation, transportation, housekeeping, and personal care. The community uses two memory care programs to provide well-rounded, person-centered programming. The first program is called Clare Bridge, and is an exclusive brand of dementia care that provides residents with six daily activities that encourage the use of their current skills and abilities. The second program — the Solace program — provides additional support to residents in the late stages of dementia. It offers assistance with grooming and includes specialized activities that involve music and aromatherapy. Regardless of your care needs, you can rest assured your safety is a priority. Staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to be alerted to an emergency. An alert system and keypad entries are also used for added security. This purpose-built community is designed with residents’ needs in mind, featuring easy-to-navigate floor plans, soothing wall colors, and large circular paths that safely lead residents to communal areas. These details allow residents to thrive in a calming and secure environment. Community Services and Amenities Residents can decide which activities appeal to their interests most. From quilting circles, to chair yoga classes, to clubs like the walking or crafters' club, there are many interactive options. Premier amenities, such as the game room, the arts and crafts studio, and the cozy living room, are also available to use when you’d like. Some additional on-site perks include the beauty and barber shop as well as the Personal Solutions delivery program. Through this program, just submit a list of items you need, such as face wipes, body wash, shampoo, or other hygienic necessities, and the staff will deliver them discreetly to your door. Best of all, the delivery is free! Living Arrangements Each pet-friendly apartment is designed to look, feel, and function just like home. The private residences include a personal bathroom, wall-to-wall carpeting, and windows that offer plenty of natural light. Having said that, there seems to be disorganization and not enough staffing over the weekend. I’m not sure choosing alternative menu items is really offered, and it seems like they are given the same things over and over. PositiveMy father has been a resident at Brookdale Leawood for 8 months. I was caring for him at home when it was getting more and more tiring. I met with [name removed] who was beyond caring and thoughtful during our tour with her. [name removed] he has moved in his spirits have been raised with the thanks of [name removed] and the programs she puts on. I can sleep at night knowing he is cared for and is getting the attention he needs.
