Friendly staff but food has room for improvements.

We were told the chef was a Cracker Barrel. That may be what he did there but he must had been fired. The menu doesn't match what is given most of the time. Food is over cooked to a point you cant bite it or cut with a knife. Food is cold. Portions are small. Plates returned to get warmed up are never brought back. Even the nurses that deliver the food to the residents say they are embarrassed in the food they bring out! Residents get their plate of food, they just get up and go back to their room without eating. …

This is a nice and clean facility. The staff is very nice and knowledgeable. The food selection is very good. The rooms are nice. You can bring your dog with you. Transportation within a big radius can be arranged for shopping, Doctor visits etc. A nurse is always available. I was very impressed.

[name removed] greeted us immediately. He was cordial and professional. Spoke with us at length about our concerns and prospective clients needs. Explained levels of care snd criteria of each along with pricing and services. We were happy to see the variety on the menu. Many activities that we hope our family member would be interested in. Spoke about history of the facility and others we know who had been residents. Very much liked the wide and well lit corridors, spacious grounds and room layouts.

The tour was relaxed and not rushed. All our concerns were addressed. We saw a few of the residents and they smiled and greeted us. The staff that we interacted with were polite and attentive to their resident. I’m helping my brother find somewhere he can be safe and feel a little bit of home. Most importantly, he felt comfortable. So grateful we have such a nice option close to our home.

Considerations For You Loved One

Our experience was ok. [name removed] had several trips to Emer. Room for falls, and confusion. It became clear that he needed memory care and we moved him to another facility. Overall, It went as best as it could, considering his difficulties that were part of his aging progression.We considered it a good place for him to start, however, his brother lived in Morganton and for both of them, the decision was a good one. Loving Care

This is a really helpful place. I was able to get out of a power chair that I had been in for over 5 years and now I am using a rolater and walking. The staff is really loving and supportive. The room size is okay for me. I would like it to be bigger for my cat, because he is getting restless. The amenities suit me fine! I have back and hip trouble and enjoy having things done for me.
