CriticalOur families experience.
The director could spend more time dealing with the residents properly and talking with the residents family when they have questions about their family members that are in there. Too much chaos all the time and the director says she'll be right back but never comes back or just shoves you off to talk with someone else who has no clue what is going on. Food options could be better also.

Honestly, I did not have a great experience there. My father was only there for 3 days. His move out date was [date removed] and I'm still waiting for my refund. The bookkeeping is horrible in both Brookdale River Rd AND Brookdale Salem. I keep getting late notices even though I've already paid (and they've processed the checks), because they have not posted correctly.

I like how it is like a small community within the place. Staff is friendly and keep the place in good condition. I would like to see them be more proactive about trying to encourage the residents to join in the activities more. Just gentle reminders at least for those with memory issues.
