best in the mid Willamette Valley

Facility is very clean and the activities that I observed were good and the caregiving was excellent. Only my concern is on weekends with fewer staff. We highly recommend the facility after comparing it with other facilities in the Linn and Benton County area areas. The only issue we had is with the administration and billing where we had issues with the facility and the corporate having confusion. Otherwise it's a great facility.

I had a great tour of Brookdale Salem. The staff were welcoming and very friendly. I witnessed a care staff talking with a resident and she was so gentle and caring while she spoke to her. Everyone was busy working and the place was clean and free of clutter. The hallways are spacious and the place smells good. The rooms are very nice and clean. [name removed] is very kind and patient with residents. Many of the staff are very kind and helpful. I overheard the Nurse speaking rudely to a patient because they weren't allowing her to finish a conversation with someone, that's the only time I witnessed any issue with an employee being unkind. Facility is under corporate ownership and if you are paying out of pocket for care, it's very spendy. Care (with room rent) for my relative ranged from $[fee removed]-$[fee removed] per month. The staff are excellent, they understand memory issues. They are patient and take time with an individual that may be having a difficult time. The facility has multiple activities everyday to keep the residents busy and involved with their community.

Great Staff!

The staff is great. Things are clean and the activities are very good. The food is ok. The cost is very high. They have increased our costs by over $[removed] since we moved her in 5 months ago. The laundry situation is not good. They have lost a number of her clothing items and she does not have one pair of matching socks left out of 12 pairs.
