Friendly community

5 for all. I am very happy with the decision to move here Staff are friendly and helpful. Food is very good and I enjoy having company in the dining room. Everything is clean. They clean my rooms every week including vacuuming and mopping. It was initially hard to get used to a much smaller space than I had in my house but I have gotten used to it. I do have 2 bedrooms so I have space for a visitor to spend the night

Wonderful place for Lively Seniors

I was very concerned about there being enough activities for my extroverted mother and the activity director spent at least a half hour showing us pictures of and discussing activities they have done. They helped me with a long term care insurance claim. They did a tour for me alone and then a tour with ma and me. They let us have a meal there and their dining director met with us to answer questions and later checked to get our thoughts on the meal. They also assessed ma to see what assistance she would need. Brookdale Spruce Wood was a very welcoming community. While we were there we spent time with our daughter-in-law’s parents, [name removed] and [name removed]. The facility is a bit too far from where we’d like to be. We’d like a larger community and very much do not want a place which includes so many meals. We’d prefer to cook for ourselves, with the option of going to meals as we’d choose. The gym was two small for what we’d like.

Warm and welcoming!

My FIL was welcomed with open arms. He had only been there a few days, when my MIL died. She never made it to Spruce Wood. He was treated so sweetly by all the residents and staff and I think that really helped him through the hardest days. He is so happy and social already joining clubs and activities. The facility is big enough to offer the amenities but small enough that it feels like family. He's been there since January and I have heard no complaints.

We love the decision that we made for Brookdale. My mother in law is very happy and she is safe. [name removed] is the best! The studio size is perfect for Nana and she loves all of the woodland around her.

I think it's a fine community for independent living and the activities director does a great job with the independent living folks but once they deemed my mother needed to be switched to assisted living and then they insisted on her moving to the locked memory care facility, her quality of care went downhill fast. Because of this I have moved my mother out of Brookdale to another facility.
