About the community
Find the right balance of care and build meaningful connections at Brookdale Woodward Estates. Here, you can receive direct assistance with daily chores, transportation, meals, and activities of daily living. Would you like an extra hand managing medication, bathing, or walking to activities? Rest assured that the team is available to learn and assist with your needs. Plus, the staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to be alerted to an emergency, and an emergency alert system is also in use. To provide additional peace of mind, the community is close to medical facilities like Larkin Chase Care and Rehabilitation Center and Bowie Health Center. The community is designed from top to bottom with residents’ comfort and accessibility in mind. It includes a beauty/barbershop, a therapy room, a lovely garden and courtyard, as well as other inviting areas. The large balcony — a favorite gathering place — is filled with vivacious house plants cared for by the residents. If the spiral staircase to the balcony is difficult to navigate, there are two easy-to-use elevators on each side of the building. Community services and amenities Enjoy a mix of activities like theme days, exercise programs, happy hours, meditation classes, and more. Additionally, the residents are welcome to join a diverse social group. Join the Scrabble group, Pearlette’s Club, Nora’s Knitting Club, the Men’s Club, and more. A pub/sports bar, ice cream parlor, and the cozy fireside living room are also fun areas to unwind. Another helpful perk is the Personal Solutions program. Send the staff an email with a list of items, and they'll be delivered to your door with no delivery fee. Skip trips to the store and get items like shampoo or toothpaste right at your door. Living arrangements Choose from 10 homey apartment floor plans and styles to decorate with personal touches, photos, and furniture. The spaces range from studios to deluxe studios and one- or two-bedroom units. Live alone or with a companion — the choice is always yours. PositiveMy father really likes the food and I no longer have to worry whether or not he is eating adequately. It is very clean and smells good. They are short staffed and it takes a long time for my father to get help getting in and out of bed.
★★★★★
PositiveThe greatest assets for Brookdale include: 1. The rooms are fabulous 2. The food is excellent 3. The staff is kind 4. The billing department is responsive The concerns are: 1. Clarifying what is standard versus which services are an added expense by the nursing staff. This inconsistency creates unnecessary billing challenges.

PositiveWe really enjoyed our tour of Brookdale - The staff were kind and welcoming but not overly performative so it felt natural. The tour felt paced well, not rushed and covered all details or corners of the building. Answered all my dad's questions with care, Finding a place for my dad has been a challenging experience. Brookdale isn't new and shiney, however, it's a clean and well maintained building filled with warm and engaged staff. I'm excited to get my dad moved in and spend time there visiting him.
