CriticalSo far so good at Carnegie.
My Mom currently has a home health aide with her for 12 hrs. each day, so her interaction with activities and the Carnegie is limited. So far, things seem to be okay. We will be reducing the hours that a home health aide is with her so she can have more experience with Carnegie staff. Cleanliness, room size and dining are good.

Delivery of prescribed medications is excellent. Availability of nursing services is excellent. Aides are generally available but these assignments change. Sometimes it is difficult to find and talk to the aide assigned to your loved one. Director of Nursing Services is generally available and is responsive. We would recommend to others in need of an option in the area that doesn't require 2 years of self-pay. We had no other option available to us at that price point allowing for a minimum stay of 1 year/self-pay prior to Medicaid. All others are 2-year minimum.

My husband and I are very disappointed in this facility. My mother-in-law has been there over 5 months with little to no improvement. There was an incident where my mother-in-law had to call 911 on her own because her "call button" which she pressed multiple times did not result in anyone responding. They are still saying they are getting a new system. Not done. They have also misplaced her medication, resulting in missed doses of her medications. My other-in-law needed to point this out to them. My brother has lived here for a number of years. I am happy to say that he has been very happy and well cared for during his stay. The staff has been very friendly and attentive and there have been many activities for him to participate in. During the past year his health has deteriorated and he has required much more attention. Facility. Currently being remodeled on the entire first floor. This includes sitting areas, lounge, dining room, reception area. Rooms are remodeled on all floors (ongoing).
