Beautiful Facility with Caring Staff

Cedarhurst of McHenry is a beautiful facility with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive to my mother’s needs. The nursing staff provided good care and communication, and we appreciated the variety of activities offered for residents. The food was good, and a nice variety was offered. As is common with many assisted living facilities, response times for assistance were sometimes longer than we would have liked, and meals were occasionally served less warm than expected. It…

Overall very happy with Cedarhurst

The staff is amazing. The other residence are all welcoming and kind. The communication with the doctor and pharmacist that are linked to Cedarhurst could be improved. The activities and activity director are great but some of the activities are canceled without that information being shared. But overall we are very happy with Cedarhurst.

My mom's apartment wasn't cleaned prior to her moving in. Sanding dust over everything. Windows needed washing as well. Couldn't stop her moving in because we had movers. The director has been made aware. Facility itself is clean. My mom is happy with the people except for the Nurse Practitioner who is only there 1 day every 2 weeks. They are nice until I have a question and/or concern, then I get a round about response and nothing is accomplished. My mom has been disliking it the food. They get you in with broken …

Cedarhurst of McHenry review

I really like the people. They are all very kind and the nurses are super and hard working. It's just I feel that family takes better care of them. No facility can match home care with the ratios they have. We chose Cedarhurst because it was the cleanest, smelled best, friendliest and close to family. I don't think there is a better facility out there. It's just not home."

My 90 yr old dad made the decision to move to Cedarhurst after the passing of his wife of 69 years. This move has proven to be an excellent choice for his health, safety and happiness. The staff have made him feel welcome, cared for and loved.
