We chose Cedarhurst of Woodstock because of the facility's close proximity to me and very clean facility and responsive staff. They have a really great activities director there. My uncle is very happy there.

CriticalIt's bad.
This has been our only experience with senior living so I'm not sure if other places are any better. Cedarhurst hires kids (probably for minimum wage) who do not treat elderly people with any respect. These kids treat their residents as children. The food has been mentioned by others. They say "restaurant dining" in their sales pitch which is about as far from the truth as you can get. If you send your meal back to the kitchen to get it fixed (which usually involves finishing the cooking cycle) you may wait 30 minu…

PositiveOur families experience
My mom is living in the Memory Care section. It is very clean and her room is always tidy, clean and laundry done, folded and basket set out again. I have gotten to know her staff and I welcome their calls and they always take time to talk to me every visit. I love that my mom is never in her room. They emphasize activities and being with the group.

CriticalNew to Memory Care
The facility is very nice. Most of the help are nice. My concerns lie in the turnover of staff especially for activities. I’m not confident my Mom is getting showers or getting her clothes laundered bc she fools the staff and they fold. She’s always in the same clothes even though she has many tops/jeans. I try to visit at different times to get the vibe. I’m amazed I have to alert the aids when there are residents that need to be cleaned up. It makes me feel bad for them.

PositiveDon't count on the meals
The food is sub-par for the money we pay. There is limited variety and secure is slow. The food is usually cold which could be the cook or the wait staff not promptly delivery it. The residents have expressed this to management but it always falls on deaf ears. They really don't care about this.
