I moved him to be closer to me. They keep missing his things like remote control for tv his blanket and his aluminum walker that he was property and other things. They have new people all the time.

I rated 4 for cleanliness based on this being the home of many people who were no longer focused on neatness. If I viewed this as a hotel the rating would be lower. Cleanliness declined for a period in 2023, but the person doing the cleaning in 2024 (I stopped going in July) was really good and consiencious. Only ate there a couple times. Food was plain but fairly good. Able to judge mainly on appearance. Glennis refused almost everything; a manifestation of her dementia. Brookdale tried very hard to find things s…

I picked this community, because of the size of the facility and the cost. Other places in the area were too big with hotel style features and I think my Mom would feel lost in a place like that. Also, the cost was reasonable as I really didn't want Mom in a State run facility.I noticed was that in the beginning of the process they kept in contact quite often. Once I made the first payment (which they posted incorrectly), no one wanted to return calls which I found unprofessional.

They are not able to handle a person with physical limitations (like wheelchair user needing help for bathroom). If the patient can dress and use the bathroom in their own, this is a great memory care facility.
