Overall loved Cogir, great experience

Apartment was clean and nice, pricing was clear, food was good, the residents were very nice and people seemed happy. The property was well maintained, lots of activities that were enjoyed by residents. My dad was in an independent living situation - they did check iron him daily and he had an emergency alert mechanism. He had some falls and they helped him a lot. I was touring Cogir for a family member who was looking at independent/assisted living facilities. Cogir looks like a wonderful place and my visit was really nice. Should my family member decide to go this route, I would definitely pick Cogir as their next residence.

Rent Raises are very high

The staff at Cogir are very friendly and helpful to residents. The upper management staff has a high turnover, with the current director being the third one in the last year or so. The rent raises of 8-9% seems very high. We were told at move in that the typical yearly raise is 4-5%. They have cut staff and have no driver currently so the rent raise seems unjustified. The cleaning is OK but I have had to re-clean the shower and floor. The kitchen staff and chef are very good and try their best despite cut backs in …

My mom is the resident

Cogir is a very friendly and helpful senior center. My mom is the resident. We set her up in independent living but in a short time we now know she needs assisted living. We are on the waiting list for the next available. They are very understanding and helpful in this situation. I am hopeful that assisted living will be a much better fit for my mom. The food and dining room is excellent. The food is very good. There are activities my mom wants to participate in but she has not been able to yet.

Welcoming senior living facility

Good food, cleaning and linen service weekly, and the staff helpers seem really nice. The community really tries to engage with new residents. Lots of activities. Maintenance can be a little slow to help with some things like cable, spraying for ants, etc.

Definitely recommend Cogir with some small areas for improvement

Admin staff are not clear with my dad about their scope, so my dad feels like service is bad. Some of his questions are not right for them, so they need to learn how to educate what they can help with, and what they cannot help with.
