Collinwood Assisted Living and Memory Care

Greeted by friendly but distracted staff. Told me history of building which is interesting, a bit unique for area, but does seem to work well for residents/staff. Beautiful 'wild' grounds with walking paths and seating. Inviting facilty with great care

We ended up changing facilities when we found out [name removed] needed to be in memory care and I regret it. I wish we would have stayed at collinwood, I thought it was great overall. The staff were genuinely warm and caring. There were a lot of long term staff there, which seems fairly rare in this industry. The facility has a great vibe, it literally feels inviting to walk in. The facility is also beautiful. One more thing- the only downside is the food is more comfort food and not therapeutic. That was commun…

Pros and cons

Medication adjustments seem to take a while to happen. Meaning the time frame between when mention is made till a doctor gets scheduled till they get it changed in their system seems to take a while. I think that the food is always good it's just that for my dad wearing dentures a lot of times the food is not something he is able to really chew and you would think that their potentially are others living there that have dentures or teeth issues. Warm,friendly,and the your manager was awesome and clarifying. A wonderful inviting experience. A full understanding of the needs and possibilities for my parent. Good resources and assistance. A pleasant experience. Enjoyed seeing an excellent facility at a good rate. Security. Level of care. Room review and meals and activities were all well toured and explained. Services at Collinwood are all encompassing and the atmosphere is conducive to a warm and stimulating environment.

My mother in law enjoyed the staff and activities. The food was ok. I thought their meals were a little high in carbs and sugar for people with memory issues, but they did make clear that they did not provide a therapeutic diet so that was to be expected.

I made the right choice for my loved one.

Staff's interest and care of the residents. Yes we would recommend this community to other families based on the experience so far.
