Things to know about Commonwealth

The commonwealth was the best but we had issues. They did not make sure mom took her medicine and she would become aggressive and agitated. The medicine was critical for her behavior. All facilities like that only want patients who are calm and are easy to watch over. Good luck. I'm not just speculating about her meds. We have the ER records and records from commonwealth to prove they failed to get her medication in her. The facility was great and staff was great. Mom had no mind to choose to take her medicine so…

They were the best that we tried. They did not give mom her medicine and when she acted up (no meds) they were not very tolerant. Most of the staff were great. One night team was horrible. They handled her in a way she fought back. We paid a huge fee to get her in and outrageous monthly fee. We feel like we paid enough to have her taken care of better than she was. They have a good reputation and 2/4 of the staff is great. We appreciate them taking care of mom. If only they would supervise the night shift a little …

Beautiful facility with personable staff!

5 on everything. Facility was exceptional in every way. Our first impression of the community is that it was sparkling clean! I actually talked to the lady that did the cleaning. She took pride in her work. Also observed other staff interaction with patients and it was always pleasant and personable. The facility was bright and cheerful with lots of windows for natural light which made every area seem spacious

Our experience at Commonwealth Abingdon

My loved one was previously a resident at Commonwealth Senior Living at Abingdon. The staff were friendly and did seem to care about the residents on a personal level, but they weren't all medically trained. The Activities Director was awesome. The food was very good. The cleanliness was okay, but could be improved. The price of this facility was high and the doctors seemed to order tests that weren't needed.

All 5 stars! This is a beautiful facility. It is spotless and cheerful. Staff are friendly and attentive. Our family has visited 5 to 6 days per week. The care is consistent and the food is excellent. We couldn't be more pleased. Thank you A Place for Mom for the referral (we prayed about this the night before the interview - this was an answer to prayer). This was the first and only facility I toured. I knew immediately this was the place. I did not see any reason to have to visit other facilities.

I toured this facility and it was very nice. They're very welcoming to family! Very clean facility and friendly staff. This place was our second choice.
