In the state of Arizona, these terms are defined as follows: Assisted Living Center A health care institution other than a hospital or a nursing care institution which provides resident rooms or residential units, supervisory care services, personal care service, directed care services or health-related services on a continuing basis for eleven or more persons who do not need inpatient nursing care. Directed Care Services Programs and services, including personal care services, provided to persons who are incapable of recognizing danger, summoning assistance, expressing need, or making basic care decisions. The food at Garden Ridge is certainly above average, and the chef and kitchen manager make sure that those needing low/no sugar, low/no salt, gluten-free and other diets have alternatives to accommodate them. Desserts are made in house. The facility is clean. It has a large, beautiful, and colorful, courtyard, and an outdoor swimming pool and Jacuzzi. CriticalI would recommend, however, with room for improvement.
Care services - not able to judge as she is living independent. The one time she needed help was not a good situation. The meals are not good right now, short staff at times creates problems. Does not participate in activities and the value is overpriced. We had problems right from the start with her apartment not being ready. Management, while very nice people, doesn't seem to know how to manage especially conflict. The food situation has gotten worse. Some meals have not been edible. My mom keeps food in her apar…
