PositiveBest choice for my wife
Grand Brook isn't perfect, but I still believe was the best choice for my wife. Staff is competent and provides adequate care. Food is well balanced and mostly well received by residents. Occasionally, a snack is given too close to meal time and affects mealtime consumption, but that is no fault of the meal plan. Activities are voluminous and interactive with the residents. PositiveCollaborative Care with Dignified treatment
This Memory Care is dedicated only to Dementia Care and the care is with dignity and caring. Activities are well planned and as inclusive as possible for various level of need. If you think Music is Therapy, then this is the best place you can find. All the staff seem to be collaborative and help each other, which translates into better care and a happier environment for staff, families, and residents. I’m glad we finally found this “home” filled with Love and caring.

I cared for my wife for a little over five years. I knew in my heart that I could care for her for the duration of the journey. That changed rather abruptly over a four to six week period when she was no longer participating in my caring for her, where she resisted my assistance. The staff was okay. Everyone seemed friendly and professional. Staffing appeared to be understaffed but that's rather common. I would rate food as a 4 again okay, I believe it was brought in from a vendor. I'd give activities a 5, Mom really enjoyed the times they had music. Room size was adequate but house keeping was sometimes a little iffy.

They sure can sell this place, but don’t let the beautiful website and smooth talking draw you in. I was excited to move my dad in only to find myself in a nightmare. Didn’t get an actual key to his room for several months, so he had to leave the door open because he could never find anyone to unlock his door for him to get back in. My aunt lived here. My wife and I came to take her to lunch -We complained because room was soiled/dirty/dusty. My sister and I are guardians of our aunt. My sister complained that day also - 8 hrs later and it was still soiled and dusty and it STILL wasn't cleaned 2 weeks later. Check her google review! [name removed].
