About Great Island Great Island is a 55+ neighborhood located inside of the larger master-planned community of The Pinehills in Plymouth, Massachusetts. A monthly homeowner's association fee (HOA) takes care of general maintenance of the community as well as exterior-home maintenance, allowing residents to take full advantage of the social lifestyle in Great Island. Resort-style amenities along with low-maintenance homes makes this community an excellent choice for active adults. Great Island Amenities The Overlook Clubhouse is a private 7,000 square-foot clubhouse that is the main hub of physical and social activity for all active adults in Great Island. Residents enjoy each others company by socializing in the multi-purpose room, playing bridge in the card room or shooting some pool in the billiards room. Staying physically fit is easy at Great Island with a fitness center that has cardiovascular and weight-training gear as well as an indoor pool. There is an outdoor patio that is perfect for reading a book while basking in the sun or hosting a cookout by using the barbecue grills. Two tennis courts and bocce ball courts can also be found outside of the clubhouse for friendly games. This picturesque community also has miles of walking and biking trails for leisurely strolls. Also available to Great Island residents is the Stonebridge Club. Located inside the master-planned community of The Pinehills, the Stonebridge Club offers all residents within the community use of this clubhouse. With a multi-purpose room, club cabana, and an outdoor pool this is a great place to take the grandkids. There are also numerous clubs that meet at The Stonebridge Club. Great Island Homes & Real Estate Started by Del Webb in 2002 and complted in 2015, Great Island consists of 600 attached and single-family homes. Each model has been designed with active adults in mind offering open floor plans and low-maintenance exteriors. The Attached Series offers two models, Franklin and Milton. The Franklin offers 1,587 square feet with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a two-car garage. An optional finished basement with a study, full bathroom, and storage area is available for this model. The Milton is a two-story home with 2,211 square feet of living space. This model has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a den, and a two-car garage. The Milton also has an optional finished basement with an additional study, full bathroom, and storage area. The Detached Series offers three models ranging from 1,986 to 2,470 square feet of living space. Each model offers two or three bedrooms, two to four bathrooms, an attached two-car garage. All models offer optional finished basements with a study, full bathroom, and storage area. Great Island Lifestyle Residents take full advantage of their low-maintenance lifestyle by enjoying one of the many clubs offered in both Great Island and The Pinehills. An on-site activities director helps plan and organize events for residents of the community. Volunteerism is a large part of the community and many residents enjoy making a difference in the surrounding areas. Some of the other clubs and activities include chess club, glee club, yoga, men's group, art club, knittig group, and chamber music group. Golfers will also enjoy the community as they have the option to join The Pinehills Club Golf Course, which runs through the community or one of the many other public courses outside the community. The options are endless as active adults will have a busy social calendar all year long. Area Great Island is located in Plymouth, Massachusetts next to Cape Cod Bay. This beautiful area offers everything you could ask for including a myriad of options for dining, shopping, and entertainment.
