Make sure you stay on top of the aids, cleaning when supposed to, laundry when supposed to and management. They like to make excuses for themselves. My aunt didn't get her medicine for the first 6 days. Kept leaving dirty poop and urine and trash can in her room and smelled bad. Multiple days dried up poop left on the seat.

These comments are based off on the first 6 weeks since my elderly parent's admission to personal care. It would have been helpful to have had another resident or two who had a close by apartment be tasked with helping to orient and acclimate my parent to the facility. It is a huge adjustment, particularly if there is any cognitive impairment, dementia, etc. someone to come by to take newbies to meals and activities. This could have been enriching if it was someone with similar interests and tastes. As a family …
