Feels Like Home

My mom has been a resident of High Point Port Washington for several years now and we are very happy with our decision to move her here. It is a smaller residence which makes it feel more like home. The resident rooms are spacious, and they have several common areas where the residents can meet to watch TV, work on puzzles, read a book, or just converse with each other. Keep your family member safe

Do not bring your family member here! Terrible experiences! A very disrespectful place. The facility lacked the skill level to take care of a total care resident. I would not recommend this place. Nightmare!

Small, not-always-friendly, home-like environment.

Certain caregivers are not always respectful to the residents. Can be impatient and respond to simple requests in a disrespectful and rude manner. The staff do not appear to be overworked but quite the opposite. It seems as though there is no real supervision of the caregivers to avoid this kind of thing.

Ellen's Home Port Washington Deserves Your Consideration

My dad and I choose Ellen's Home of Port Washington to care for my mother when her needs exceeded our ability to care for her at home. Ellen's Home- Rest Assured

My mother had end stage Parkinsons and we choose Ellen's home for their facility and caring staff. She was there for about 5 weeks until the end. My dad tried to keep her at home as long as he was able but ultimately we recognized she needed professional care. This was my dad's, and my, first experience with facility based care and we were concerned that a wrong decision at this point would be detrimental for all of us- particularly my mother. Very nice facility, very impressed. Really liked everything being on 1 floor. Mom's concern was that it was too far from friends & activities, that ultimately was the deciding factor.
