Warm, Welcoming, and Friendly

What we like the most about Independence Village of Grand Ledge is that the staff and residents are so welcoming and friendly. The administrative staff are very helpful.

Room for improvement

On the weekends they do not staff as well. Sit at door and no one answers to let you in. They could use better maintenance. Room size is good. Staff spends a great deal of time on their cell phones.

Friendly staff

[name removed] who took us tour was great and was very responsive to questions. The facility was clean and the staff knew all of the residents names. Where I think they can do better is a stronger onboarding experience that incorporates who to contact for certain questions, a review of the care plan, etc.

Difficult transition made easier.

The staff is unbelievably responsive and helpful. They know everyone's name and take time to talk and more importantly listen to them. 6 weeks after moving in my 92 year old father with memory issues contracted RSV. He needed breathing treatments every four hours and all I had to do was go up to the desk and ask them if they could take care of that for us and bring his meals to his room and they took care of the whole thing. Such a happy place. Nobody says "no". Everyone knows your name. Problems are settled quickly. Upper staff is easily available and listend to suggestions.
