Who could ask for more?

In case you are now having to make a decision of what to do to provide the best memory care for your loved one, I want to share our experience and to give you hope. My mom and dad had self isolated for 9 years prior to this. We knew they were hiding something and my brother chose to drop in announced. Calls to visit were denied previously as "they had plans for the day and would not be home". Mom has passed away

Initially all seemed great. I received a phone call about first fall. She was given a wheelchair to use instead or in addition to her walker and when she tried to sit the chair wheeled away from her. She was ok then. No other communication when i went on vacation, phone was active and i was listed as emergency contact. When i went to pick her up at the end of her stay, i didn't recognize her. A little disappointed

My LO seems happy there. I have issues with housekeeping/laundry services. They seem to be short staffed with aides especially on the weekends. I do think the directors are working on getting these issues resolved so they never happen again.

Our Experience

Staff is wonderful. Move in was very easy. There is always an open line of communication. My father sometimes, most of the time, likes the food. But sometimes he doesn't. I think that's just a thing. The only thing I would say is this: this particular Iris location does not have a support group. I believe the Iris further north of the city does. I would like to see one at the N. May location. My Mom could really benefit from such a program. Driving further North for her is not an option.

If there is anything such thing as an award for Assisted Living & Memory Care then they should definitely win in at least 10 of 10 categories!!!Lol If my Mom ever gets to the point where she needs placement I would definitely feel comfortable putting her here
