CriticalThe choosing process was a "hard" sell, according to mom. I'm glad she decided to move. The intake and orientation process was almost non existent for independent living. The food is largely wheat based, and the menu is limited. The employees are friendly on the surface, but generally unavailable for help. They turn off the heat in the common areas around 7 pm, so mom doesn't want to stay down there and watch movies, which she would enjoy. It is hard to find parking to visit unless you want to call in to the front …

I’m glad to hear there are aspects of the community that have been positive, including the programs and overall environment. I also appreciate your candid input regarding the move-in experience, dining, amenities, and overall support. I understand how important these elements are to daily life and to your mom’s overall satisfaction. I would like the opportunity to connect with you directly to better understand your mom’s experience and explore ways we can improve it. Please feel free to contact me at 510-727-1700. PositiveElavator gets busy during peak times of the day. Rooms are clean and well designed. Hand held shower could be closer to the bench for easiler and safer access.

We also appreciate you noting the elevator traffic and the suggestion regarding the shower setup. Input like this helps us continue looking for ways to improve the experience and comfort of our residents at Ivy Park.

CriticalPositive include the facility and some very nice staff. Not positive is being understaffed in the dining and caregiver team. Clearly, management was new and making it up as they went, had very poor communication and follow through on some items. You never saw the supervisors and above managers or directors. Onboarding was non-existent and we only heard from the Exec Director when we gave notice.
Response from the communityHello, Thank you for sharing your honest feedback. I appreciate your kind words about our community and the team members who made a positive impression, and I’m truly sorry to hear that staffing, communication, leadership visibility, and onboarding did not meet your expectations during your time with us. These are extremely important areas, and I take your concerns very seriously. I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you personally to better understand your experience. Please call me at 510-727-1700 if you’d like to share more. I value your feedback and would appreciate the chance to connect. Sincerely, Joseph Villanueva Executive Director
