It's an older facility, could use some refresh/updates but we were happy with her care. I thought the gentleman who assisted us with getting her on Scan from Kaiser to save her money was a god send.

The staff is great and the place is clean. However, it foes feel understaffed and can be tough finding a staff member at night. Activities are very minimal. Residents that are higher functioning can go to activity room or not. No one doing activities with the handful of residents that are higher functioning. Residents possessions disappear and don't get returned - if found else where.

The staff at Lakewood Gardens have been very friendly and communicative. It does feel a little lite on the number of staff - especially on nights and weekends. There are too many residents in the activity room with only one staff member. The move in process was straight forward and without issues. The meals are above average - from what I have seen. I would recommend Lakewood Gardens for moderate to severe dementia patients. Mild dementia patients may not get enough mental stimulation or activities, though.

Lakewood Gardens has been an absolute blessing for my family. My Aunt [name removed] became a resident in July 2021 and I could not have asked for a better place for her.
