My rating has dropped because some of the discussions I had with the facility concerning my first review, have not been fixed and has gone downhill even more.. One issue was the food and the food portions. The portions are small and my father does not eat seafood due to having a shellfish allergy as a child. They said it was an easy fix and he would no longer receive seafood on his tray. Start early, write down all questions you have and see if they allow you to eat a meal as a guest in your search.

Pros: It is a very clean place and the aides and workers are super friendly. I get email alerts on any illness going around and activities. The sales rep has truly helped us more than anyone else Cons: The meals are smaller and you don't get to pick what you want. We went with the large apartment and it just doesn't feel like a home to my father but a large hospital room. Short staffed

The staff was very nice, but this is an assisted living facility. My dad needed more help than they could provide. He fell multiple times a day, and had dementia so he couldn’t remember to press the call button. His acuity was too high for this facility. He passed away in the facility.

Great caregivers

Positive, friendly, comprehensive, communicative. The caregivers and staff are very nice! However there always seems to be a shortage of caregivers.

Review for Lorien Bel Air

It was one of the best places I visited. Very spacious. People were friendly. If your mom or dad has dementia they will likely need more help than what the staff can provide. I chose it because of my mom ran out of funds, they accepted Medicare/Medicaid. All assisted living locations are expensive.
