Location works well for my stepdad & our family. They need additional staff-permanent & agency. The residents could use more 1/1 time w the staff, whether to chat w them, watch a few mins of tv, spend more time on grooming. There are times I go to memory care & I can't find anyone....the staff in the activities room/dining room are in their phones or no where to be found. I've had several words w management about leaving the residents without anyone around in the event of an emergency. We pay sufficient funds and …

We moved my mother-in-law there in October knowing that at some point she'll need to go into a nursing home bed there rather than the memory care unit. But within two months we were already told they needed to move her to a nursing home bed. Reluctantly we did that move, only to hear a few weeks later that they want to move her, in yet another unit that they say is more secure for her. They need more people to help. And the staff, whether full time or agency, need to stay off their phones, pay attention to the residents. Staffing is the key to continued improvement. I've seen many residents slouched in chairs, clothes dirty most likely from spills or drooling. These people are at the last stages of their lives. Give them dignity & grace. We were so thankful as we could tell it would be a much better fit for him, as he was not getting proper care at the previous center.
