Through unique services, the community aims to offer a purposeful retirement to residents experiencing memory loss. Services and Amenities Each resident’s well-being is prioritized through the community’s services. The licensed nursing staff works around the clock to help ensure proper care. The staff happily assists residents with daily living activities, medication, and other personal needs. Furthermore, the community features exceptional design to foster a familiar and comfortable environment. The community features extra-wide hallways to prevent confusion, shadow boxes outside of each resident’s door to display their personal stories, and historical surprises scattered throughout spaces to help stimulate memories. The committed staff takes pride in listening and learning from each resident. Staff understands that memory loss manifests uniquely in each individual, so rather than focusing on residents’ inabilities, staff focus their energy on residents’ current cognitive and sensory functions. Using key techniques — gaze, speech, touch, and verticality — the staff aims to help residents properly engage their abilities. To connect each individual with their memories, residents are encouraged to connect with nature, express their faith, and feel purposeful. Living Arrangements and Unit Features Meadowbrook Memory Care understands that some residents prefer privacy while others prefer to share their daily routine with others, so the community offers options that enable both. The community offers both shared and private suites. Each suite is fully furnished with charming antiques and familiar decor to prevent confusion. Additionally, the community is fully equipped with an advanced security system and window sensors to maximize security. Care Types Offered Meadowbrook Memory Care is a Type B assisted living facility . In the state of Texas, these terms are defined as follows: Assisted Living Facility A facility that provides personal care services and administration of medication to 4 or more residents. Assisted living facilities can accept residents with dementia and/or Alzheimer’s. There are 3 types of assisted living facilities: Type A: A facility that may provide room and board to residents who are physically and mentally capable of evacuating the facility unassisted. Type B: A facility that may provide room and board to residents who need assistance evacuating, are incapable of following directions under emergency conditions, require staff attendance during nighttime sleeping hours, and require assistance transferring to and from a wheelchair. Type C (Adult Foster Care): Four-bed facilities that meet the minimum standards and rules for enrollment in the Department of Aging and Disability Services’ Adult Foster Care home program. The facility provides supervision and personal care services to residents.
