The orientation was minimal, and there were three appointments that were no-shows. The apartment size will work, although storage is minimal. The food is about average for senior living—overcooked and under-seasoned. The location is excellent.

The food was good sometimes but the other residents even complained. My biggest problem was with the administrative staff. I got behind on my rent and so they didn't clean my apartment. And when I left, the parting comment was "now that you're no longer a resident, you're not welcome here. " I have to add that when I first moved in, they were great. They gave me a bed, couch, dresser and kitchen table and chairs until my furniture arrived a month plus later. The activities were awesome and conducted very well. Th…

PositiveOur family's experience at Neawanna by the Sea
In the short time my mother was there, the staff went above and beyond to make her feel comfortable and cared for. After my mom's passing, when moving out, there wasn't even a mention of the bill. Shortly after, we received a remembrance present in the mail, not a bill. again, It was very impressive. It definitely felt like she was cared for. I would definitely recommend it. Especially for those looking for a strong community where the residents like to hang out together.

There is a very caring staff that works hard to accommodate my Mom’s needs. The activity director does an excellent job of including her in activities and assisting her to enjoy them. The physical therapist has also made a special effort to give my Mom personsl service and accommodate my Mom’s schedule preferences.

I think a problem is training and experience of staff. And as with many facilities, the food could be fresher and more nutritious. I would not recommend this facility for people who have high level care needs. If someone is independently mobile, it's okay. My mother had higher needs that were not met to my satisfaction.
