CriticalThere has been significant turnover in nursing and aide staff- mostly for the better from what I can tell. While the building is dated, it is always clean, as is my mom's apartment. If someone is wheelchair bound, I presume the space within the apartment may be hard to navigate but we have not had to deal with that. There are always activities going on. The staff are kind and engaging.

CriticalIt is obvious that the staff cares for residents- they know all their names and are very engaged. Quality of nursing and medical assistance could be improved, but we may just be in a cycle where mom needs different care than they can provide. Mom says the food menu is boring and isn't always piping hot. It seems to me that there is pretty good variety though.

PositiveLet me start by saying she was only there for a little over a month. She loved it there compared to [community name removed] She quickly went down hill with difficulty eating and drinking. She was transferred to St Vincent hospital around [date removed]where they wanted to insert a feeding tube. Her living will said she did not want that so she rapidly deteriorated and passed I believe on [date removed]. I live in Texas so my environment was all by phone, text or emails. PositiveThe staffing is not allowed to help with elderly individuals that have fallen down or tripped. That was one big reason why we DID place our parents there, not spelled out clearly in the beginning. Now we are going to look at other facilities. I would still recommend them. individuals going down this road need to pay close attention to what services are actually available and what the customer is paying for.
