PositiveFirst, regarding the staff which I feel is the most critical and important for determining the quality of care for patients (and family members/friends). I rate them a 5. The staff was always caring and attentive. They communicated well and made efforts to engage in conversation. Activities were limited due to health circumstances but efforts to involve our "patient" were consistent within the scope of participatory ability. Food and dining arrangements were excellent. Menus were were varied and choices were broad …

CriticalThere is no doubt that this is a mega-complex for seniors, both independent and in some stage of necessary assistance. Having a skilled nursing staff is a bonus, as is having an on-site medical practice. But that also brings some disadvanteges (they reported to me an 11:1 staff to patient ratio during the day in memory care and 22:1 at night--though state regulations require 8:1, but since they can 'borrow from skilled staff when needed,' I guess they get by with the discrepancy. They were also quite dogmatic in h…

PositiveAll of my interactions with nursing care, administrators and staff show a dedicated and responsible/responsive team that works diligently to provide the best care to their patients/residents and communicate openly and often with family and caretakers. that is not to say that everything is perfect, but in comparison to other experiences we had at different facilities over the past 18 months, the experiences with the staff and care givers has consistently met our expectations or corrections were swiftly made when ad…

CriticalI would have given RGV 10 stars a year ago. The past 2 months they have started incorporating petty changes that have a huge impact on residents. They no longer deliver packages to residents doors. Big problem for elderly people with mobility issues. . Get volunteers or an intern to do it. Just poor decision making. Now they have removed all magazines from common areas. They want the place to look sterile as opposed to lived in. Just toss old magazines and leave some for the residents enjoyment. Easy answer but ins…

PositiveOur experience with moving in, personnel and care could not be better. All of the staff are excellent, communication is outstanding and care unparalleled. Food is excellent and pricing is competitive. But it is the staff that earns the most accolades. The are personable, caring and attentive at a time when family and friends are in greatest need of these attributes.

PositiveOverall, it has been a good experience. We picked this community because it was cleaner, more upscale, better care, better meals, and much better staff.
