This facility was a Godsend for our family!

Sage Oaks has truly been a Godsend for our family. After a traumatic experience at [community removed] where we were told my father required skilled nursing rather than memory care the transition to Sage Oaks has proven that the right environment makes all the difference. In one week, it is clear that their success stems from kindness, compassion, specialized dementia training, and genuine accountability. My dad has frontal lobe dementia, which makes communication a significant challenge. While any move has a lear

Sage Oak

We moved our loved one from [community name removed] where he spent his last 10 days which was phenomenal, but not any more expensive than [community name removed]. I regret not moving him here from the start. Of any place I've seen, and I've seen a ton of them, I would want to live at Sage oak if I was incapacitated or suffering from dementia.

Caring staff

I would rate the overall facility with a 5. The staff in Preston's facility are helpful, and friendly and he has settled in and has good rapport with them. They tease him, believe his tales of playing for the NFL and laugh at his remarks, which make him feel that he matters.

Big Box vs. Boutique

Sage Oak in Denton has been a Godsend for our family. We were a family in crisis looking for a new assisted living residence that would accept our elderly mother post-surgery, as we were told she could not return to her prior residence because she now required care beyond what they “could” provide. A social worker referred us to Sage Oak, as she knew they had the quality of staff to care for our mother in a more intimate environment. We moved our mother’s belongings out of the “Big Box” assisted living (nearly 1

My husband and I have been pleased with the care his brother has received at Sage Oak. They have ongoing activities to involve the residents, and we really like the weekly medical checks with the nurse on staff. He recently fell and was taken by ambulance to a hospital ER. The nurse kept us informed of the hospital visit - he was checked out and sent back to Sage Oak. They kept us updated. With each house having its own cook/chef, the menu is varied and well prepared. Breakfast and lunch are the main meals With d

Critical

Not recommended

They are short staffed and can't keep employees. They appear to sedate residents because of the lack of caregivers. My Dad was in a very dangerous situation and we moved him out of Sage Oak as fast as we could. His health was rapidly declining. He is doing MUCH better now, and getting off all those medications. No PRN's.
