Senior Haven Assisted Living in San Antonio, Texas strives to provide a caring, loving home-like environment for every resident. Our fully staffed care home has operated for over 15 years, and has a registered nurse that manages our community, oversees care, and is on-call 24/7. Community Amenities and Services We encourage all residents to pursue their unique interests and activities, as we help them maintain an optimal level of health. We also encourage residents to socialize with each other throughout our common areas. All residents can relax with such features as our warm and inviting greeting room, with a wood burning fireplace, dining area, a secure yard where residents can sit for fresh air, sunshine, cook outs, and so much more. Through our dignified environment, all residents are respected and supported how they need. Senior Haven has a variety of different activities residents and their loved ones can participate in. We offer plenty of options from art activities, board games, bingo, a book club, cooking club, gardening, current events, pet and music therapy, movie night, and so much more! With patience, experience, and love we seek to make the transition into the assisted living lifestyle as easy and comfortable as possible for new residents. Our community is also secured with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms with grab bars, ramps, and fire extinguishers. Living Arrangements Private and semi-private rooms are available and may come with attractive furniture. To help residents feel more at home, we invite them to bring small items of furniture, clothing, and other sentimental belongings with them. Let’s make it feel just like home at Senior Haven. Care Types Offered Senior Haven Assisted Living is a Type B assisted living facility . In the state of Texas, these terms are defined as follows: Assisted Living Facility A facility that provides personal care services and administration of medication to 4 or more residents. Assisted living facilities can accept residents with dementia and/or Alzheimer’s. There are 3 types of assisted living facilities: Type A: A facility that may provide room and board to residents who are physically and mentally capable of evacuating the facility unassisted. Type B: A facility that may provide room and board to residents who need assistance evacuating, are incapable of following directions under emergency conditions, require staff attendance during nighttime sleeping hours, and require assistance transferring to and from a wheelchair. Type C (Adult Foster Care): Four-bed facilities that meet the minimum standards and rules for enrollment in the Department of Aging and Disability Services’ Adult Foster Care home program. The facility provides supervision and personal care services to residents.
