It was very expensive for mom to live there. But that is not just a Spring Arbor thing. All assisted living facilities usually cost more than most of us can afford. We were pleased with everything but the food. I had dinner with mom twice as she was only a resident there for 2 weeks before being hospitalized and diagnosed with terminal cancer. These last few months have been full of ups and downs for my dad [name removed]. It gives me great pleasure to say that your patience and care my dad has been exceptional. You have had the perfect blend of showing someone dignity and grace while still complying with the rules and statutes of your industry. Good but stay involved.

The facility is nice but you still have to constantly check that the staff is doing for your loved one what you have told them or expect to be done. Especially if your loved one has confusion. I will talk to specific aides about what I want done but when I come back someone else is working and has no idea what I am talking about. Transportation for a resident to the doctor is only available on certain days.

Overall a nice community

It would be so nice if all memory care facilities had a higher ratio of caregiver to patient, but I don't think that's realistic. There is less structure on the weekends and I would like to see that improve. If I ask for something or mention a need, they are fairly quick to respond. Overall, our experience has been good.
