STAY AWAY

Stay away....Had my parents there for a little over a year. I visited my parents from New Zealand. I was told I was not allowed to sit with my aging parents (in their 80's with dementia) at meal times even though I wasn't going to eat any of the food. So I had to sit in the lobby and watch my poor mom eat her food from a distance. The food is lousy. Residents have to wait 30 mins at lunch before the food is given to them. I did my parents laundry. Christmas in " an old folks home" ?

I always heard that Christmas time was a difficult time for elderly people. But, here at Stamford Estates that is not the case! Usually the food is acceptable but often my loved one has complained about meats being too tough to chew or eat. My loved one often gets a sandwich from the fridge as the dinner served was too spicy or just not appetizing. A few times at Holidays the residents were given boxed lunches as there were no staff to prepare holiday meals.
