The area always appeared clean, the staff were helpful, and activities were frequently offered. Unfortunately, the staff and facility itself seemed unequipped to handle dementia patients who exhibited agitation/aggression and instead would send her to a geriatric psychiatric hospital. The back and forth in location and constant changes to her medication quickly worsened her dementia and her physical abilities and had multiple falls. The staff, i.e. aides, nurses, CNAs, are very caring. But this facility is for much older residents, not people my mother's age (78). That is one sticking point I have a problem with. The majority of residents have varying levels of dementia. And don't expect privacy. Food is terrible. If I could rate 0, I would. Probably the only positive thing about Dominion is the care staff... the ones who directly care for the residents. Administration stinks too. Sorry... but that's my honest experience with them.
