★★★★★
PositiveI was not able to tour the facility, but the staff member I spoke with was very kind, welcoming, and accommodating. The reason I did not take the tour was because my aunt needs a place to live in Hampton, Virginia, rather than Richmond, Virginia. Although the location was not the right fit for her needs, I appreciated the time, kindness, and assistance that were provided.
★★★★★
CriticalThe price is ridiculous and should be looked at. The room size is small. Some staff are wonderful. There is much discontent and unhappiness among the staff, and there is large turnover. The activities were great. The current leadership is new but clueless and will not be able to cure the toxicity that is causing patient care to suffer, and it needs a shake up from the top.

CriticalThe quality of care here has been inconsistent and seems to depend on which staff member is on duty. CriticalOverall, my POV is during the sales process. Things were oversold and ultimately under delivered. I repeatedly escalated for clarity on the timing and frequency of the things that were discussed and was given the runaround and ultimately never given the information. We asked simple questions like when will bathing be for this week and how often will it be? I spent over two hours on the phone escalating for over a week and was never given an answer.
★★★★★
PositiveFriendly atmosphere, felt like a family, other residents were so nice to Dad and us, the staff was with us to the end - some staff came in to pay their respects when Dad passed away. We appreciated their kindness. They would stop in just to say hi to Dad and visit with him. Yes, overall we would recommend Sunrise. But we would not recommend them if your family member is in Hospice. We had big communication problems between them and Hospice. We ended up being in the middle to get things taken care of quite a bit.
★★★★★
PositiveI would rate them all 5. I could not be more pleased. What we like the most about Sunrise at Bon Air is their service and the staff. Very attentive. We would highly recommend this community to other families.
