Our families experience

The Blake was awesome. The staff are great and the facility took great care of my father in law. We needed a spot quickly for my father in law. The director/ sales team at the Blake helped us get everything taken care of quickly. Turned out my father in law needed memory care and they stepped up to take care of his needs. The activity director for memory care was a great help to keep him busy. They have a great team and care for their residence.

Don’t fall for it!!

We thought we had found the perfect place for my mom as her first experience in memory care. The directors at The Blake are very compassionate and knowledgeable, unfortunately the care givers they hire are neither. If you want a place where your loved one will be bossed around and spoken to like they’re in the military, then this is the place for you. I’d strongly suggest you get cameras with audio for the room! My mom lasted one month and it was a terrifying and traumatic experience for her. Thank God The Blake

Response from the community

Dear Francis Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We sincerely apologize that your experience at The Blake did not meet your expectations. We understand the caregivers with the private caregiver service chose not to return to assist your mom and we are happy we were able to be there to help until the next arrived. We are disappointed to hear your experience did not go as expected. Providing compassionate, high-quality care is our top priority at The Blake, and we regret that this was not reflected during your mother's stay. We will be reviewing this situation with our team to ensure that such issues are addressed and corrected as we continuously strive to improve our services. If you're open to it, we'd love the opportunity to discuss your experience further. Please feel free to contact us directly at (321) 343 - 7200 or cynthia.cooler@blakleiving.com.

Facility and staff are excellent, everyone is very friendly and greets us when we come. All know our resident and what she enjoys and doesn't enjoy. Housekeeping is well maintained and laundry is done frequently. Communication with the family is spotty. I would like to receive the monthly activity calendar via email and an occasional personalized email about what my mother in law has been doing, it would be appreciated. The move in process was easy and assistance was offered, if we needed it. The food is good and v

Great staff and facility. Would definitely recommend.

The staff are always friendly and are very good with the residents. The catering coordinator keeps them busy and plays games to keep their minds active.

My loved one is currently a resident at The Blake at Viera. I would recommend this facility to others. I like that it is a newer facility. And the staff has been great. I think there could be a few more staff in the Memory Care, especially to help make it a point to better try and connect the residents with their loved ones once a week. I had hoped that my loved one would be more active and out of his room for more than just meals. It is kind of a hit and miss on keeping the residents engaged during the day. The mo

Additional notes: during the sales process, the only reason I moved my loved one here was because of their promise of "aging in place." they touted their extended congregate care licensing as next level care. They gave me overwhelming assurance that they could handle her health challenges going forward. The first time she had an issue and went to the hospital the evaluating her and said she could not come back. She spent a total of two weeks of actual living time at the Blake. In a word, they sold me a bill of good
