My experience with The Canopy was extremely disappointing. There was no consistent structure or support to help my father adjust to the facility, even though we were promised that assistance before he moved in. The meals were very inadequate, and we were also promised that he would receive snacks between meals. After he had already moved in, I asked about the snacks and was told, "Oh, he gets dessert with dinner sometimes." A dessert served with dinner is not a snack between meals, as we were promised. Communication was amazing especially with Heart of Hospice. There is variation in the staff (caretaker) interactions but overall, given my situation, the experience was good and I am eternally grateful for admin working with me.

PositiveTop tier Help at a desperate time
The staff were responsive and did a fabulous job with contact regarding resident needs. Our placement was urgent and we utilized Heart of Hospice as he required a higher level of care. The option of having the hospice team was key. Canopy with heart of hospice made a very difficult situation easier to navigate. After my dads transition the heart of hospice arm of care was phenomenal. Both teams showed care and compassion in a difficult time.

The kindness of the staff. They were so sweet and good at redirecting some of the wondering residents. I could tell that they knew the residents well, even the ones who had not been there very long. They cared about my dad and were so sad when he passed. That truly touched me. He was there with hospice care for a month. The facility and staff are very comfortable working with hospice and were in communication with them so my dad had the best, most compassionate care. They were all so kind to us.
