Safe & supportive memory care

We were able to move my Dad into a memory care apartment a few days after touring the facility. The memory care staff is friendly and supportive. They engage with the residents. Minor issue has been laundry. The laundry goes out and are returned clean but sometimes other resident clothes are included with his.

I would give this facility a 1 out of 5 in every category. Our overall experience was stressful and miserable for both my dad and our entire family. The facility was often unclean, and my dad's room went 10 days without being cleaned. Even then, it was only addressed after we raised the issue with administration. While some staff members seemed friendly at first, that quickly changed over time. Administration always said the right things but rarely followed through with meaningful action. Unfortunate experience

They were understaffed the food was good. They were in the process of selling so just let things slide. He was adequately cared for but I didn't get what I was paying for as there was no director for 3 months and no nurse or activities person.

Staff was friendly. Place was well kept up. Beautiful inside and out. Tour was nicely given. All questions answered. Just over the budget for what we could afford for my Brother.

I was looking for a place for my uncle. I am very impressed by all I saw. my family had lunch and enjoyed it very much. The food was delicious. We will be moving my uncle in soon.

Mixed bag

I have a mixed review for Bonaventure of Thornton now The Ivy Thornton. This facility has recently changed ownership and the new owners are making lots of changes. Many of these changes appear to be cosmetic without real substance. They have struggled with proper staffing and my mother’s room has been cleaned inconsistently. I am disappointed at the lack of communication with families in the memory care unit as my mother cannot communicate changes to us. Their menu changes left my mother sick for four days before w…
