Our beautiful community is located right on the water of Lake Merritt and is within walking distance of paved paths, public parks, and the BART system. This community is where luxury and comfort meet, in a gorgeous and inclusive community for seniors. Our building was first constructed in 1928 and remains a historical landmark in downtown Oakland. Staying with us means you’re a part of Oakland history! Community Amenities and Services Staying happy and healthy is at the forefront of our minds as we get older. That’s why, at The Lake Merritt, we have an in-house personal trainer, personalized yoga practice, and meditation practice for you to stay centered and in touch with your body! We also know that staying connected and building community is important to our residents. We sponsor both on- and off-site activities like speakers, classes, and unique experiences for a variety of interests. Regardless of what you are interested in, we can get you connected to other residents who like the same things! There’s nothing we love more than having our residents form bonds with each other. While we pride ourselves on being an independent living community, we still offer comforts like concierge services, life safety systems, housekeeping and maintenance, transportation, and cable digital TVs.
