My mom was in assisted living for a few months. I got a call after 4 pm one day from Harrison telling me we needed to find a sitter for my mother that evening or we needed to put her in their memory care unit for her safety immediately. We went ahead and put her in the memory care unit. We received three phone calls in the spam of a couple of months letting us know my mother had gotten out of their secure memory care unit. Needs better communication through

My experience being here from when the building was HarborChase to now The Harrison, it was never the same there again, once this new company took over, I noticed that they were very rude and snappy all the time, ALL the directors most of which were new since the others quit once the new company came) they were avoidant to the residents, employees and Family like when they changed the contract it was hard for the residents to even get to talk to the [name removed], the residents complained and complained about no c…

Things to know

It was a beautiful facility. Wonderfully decorated with high-end furnishings. The dining room was very lovely Michelle at the front desk was extremely kind, helpful and friendly. Although I think she was moving from the front desk to another position, a few of the aids were rough and unkind occasionally. She was on hospice and passed away in the facility NO ONE FROM THE ADMINISTRATION EVER CONTACTED ME TO SAY THEY WERE SORRY OR THANK YOU FOR LETTING THEM TAKE CARE OF HER OR WHAT CAN WE DO FOR YOU!. Review for The Harrison of Oklahoma City Assisted Living and Memory Care

I would say do not move your loved one in there. Unless they are totally independent and require no assistance. They just went under new ownership for hopefully that will help all of the issues. Trying to deal with the Director and the administrative people on financial issues with the accounts is a nightmare. Months to get anything. resolved.

Be an advocate

Stay on top of promises. Make sure your love one has someone verifying what is being done. I would recommend HarborChase of South Oklahoma City, just make sure to stay on top of things!

Don’t use this facility

I would not recommend this assisted living. The medical staff is very slow and the management act uncaring. The front reception staff aren’t that friendly. It’s. Also, one of the most expensive facilities in OKC.
