Horrible experience

Poor management and follow-up. No concern for the health and wellness of their clients. Medications changed by doctors without notification (which put my loved one in the hospital and probably would have died if I did not move him out), unhealthy food choices and quantities, under staffed or no concern from most care staff. Horrible facility- it presents itself well but once your loved one moves in, very disappointing from top management down.

Feels Like Home

The sales lady, [name removed], is amazing. She is compassionate and understanding as she has been through this before with her mom. [name removed] who runs the memory care is awesome. The facility is gorgeous and feels like home.

Review for The Windsor of Venice

The Windsor is a horrible mismanaged facility with a staff who does not care, starting with their director [name removed] My brother had moved out of there to [name removed] It is bright, cheery, clean and the staff cares. At The Windsor, I was paying extra for my brother to receive a shower and shave daily. Lucky if he was showered and shaved a couple times a week, but they were charging me for that service. The doctor at their facility changed my brother's medication without informing me and took him off of his m

Response from the community

We’re truly sorry to hear about your experience and the challenges your family faced. Resident care and safety are our highest priorities, and it’s upsetting to learn that we fell short of those standards. We take your concerns seriously and encourage you to reach out to us directly so we can better understand the situation and address any issues.

Secure building

We chose The Windsor of Venice because of the hurricane proof building, no need to evacuate the residents in a storm. Also, a nurse is on duty 24/7, not simply on call like other facilities. The facility is super clean and the building is built to withstand a category 5 hurricane which is very important here. The food has been good and bad, they are undergoing changes in kitchen staff and operations. It will improve.

Good fit

Staff was great, she was in memory care and they were nice . It was very nice and they helped her with getting in quickly ! At first we were not aware she needed the memory care but they assessed her and it was the right move.

My Mom simply wanted to be in her own home. The Windsor could not compete with that. She has few if any physical limitations and same for emotional. It provided a safe haven for her kids (myself included), knowing she was receiving her meals and a safe nurturing environment. However, the nurturing was not enough. She found it hard to engage w strangers, has hearing limitations even w hearing aids. It was clear to us that she wanted to be in her own home. We have nothing but positive comments on the Windsor. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughtful and honest review. We truly understand that there’s no place like home, and we commend you for supporting your mom in finding what feels best for her. It was an honor to care for your mom, and we wish you both all the best as she continues her journey at home!
