We are conveniently located between two major hospitals as well as many businesses and attractions that residents and guests delight in visiting. Our community is dedicated to providing quality care that tailors to the unique needs of every individual. We understand the difficult transition of entering assisted living, and have developed programs, services, and amenities to ensure all residents feel secure in their living space. Our programs emphasize a Personal Touch philosophy, that begins with the knowledge of each resident’s history, as well as our diligent understanding and continuous learning of dementia and other forms of memory conditions. While maintaining the dignity of everyone we care for, we want to ensure—through daily activities, recreation, and medical provision—that we provide adequate support to the senior community who calls University Village home. Community & Amenities University Village believes in fostering a community dedicated not to just living, but thriving. We’ve developed a myriad of services to ensure residents find variety in their day and that their fundamental needs are met. We provide three family-style, nutritious meals daily, along with snacks throughout the day. Residents enjoy spending time with our affectionate pets and the companionship, joy, and loyalty they bring. Living & Care University Village currently has private and semi-private units available, which are ideal for those who prefer to have a roommate or desire a more affordable living option. We want to make sure all of our residents feel optimal comfort, safety, and compassion at University Village. Our staff is available throughout the day to provide assistance and to be notified of any time-sensitive needs. Care Types Offered University Village is a Type B assisted living facility . In the state of Texas, these terms are defined as follows: Assisted Living Facility A facility that provides personal care services and administration of medication to 4 or more residents. Assisted living facilities can accept residents with dementia and/or Alzheimer’s. There are 3 types of assisted living facilities: Type A: A facility that may provide room and board to residents who are physically and mentally capable of evacuating the facility unassisted. Type B: A facility that may provide room and board to residents who need assistance evacuating, are incapable of following directions under emergency conditions, require staff attendance during nighttime sleeping hours, and require assistance transferring to and from a wheelchair. Type C (Adult Foster Care): 4-bed facilities that meet the minimum standards and rules for enrollment in the Department of Aging and Disability Services’ Adult Foster Care home program.
