Based on what I saw and my conversation with my FIL, I would give it 4 stars. The place is definitely old and smells like stale urine. They do help the residents with eating their meals and provide a 2nd portion if they want. Everyone is super friendly & helpful. The only complaint is that the staff is giving my MIL things to other residents to use/wear which is creating the hardship of us having to constantly buy more clothes for her. All of here clothing had her name sewn inside as required but things still go mi…

The staff was great. The activities were great. The activity staff was great. The main complaint is that the facility needs updating. I would recommend the facility as a whole, but the building needs an upgrade. But the staff makes up for what the facility lacks as a structure.

PositiveThe care givers are very nice and attentive.
Vintage Care is a small community ALF in Palatka. It seemed to fit him better than a large facility with lots of bells and whistles (that he cannot see, partake or hear much). My dad is legally blind and only has 32% hearing, so a smaller facility can attend to my dad better. This was his choice. He is still ironing out the kinks, getting used to living in a facility, making sure meds are given on time ( they've been great), etc., etc. No place is perfect but he is safe, clean, fed and meds on time.

These responses are from my loved ones and myself. My loved one's first night at Vintage Care of Palatka, the staff did not have a call button in the room. Knowing my loved one is a high risk for falling, the Vintage staff should have had a button for my loved one. With that said, my loved one had a fall on the first night. My loved one was laying on the floor for a very long time. My loved one continued to beat his shoe against the floor after falling, hoping someone would hear and come to his aid. That is unaccep…
