My Father passed away [date removed] from a fall. They kept wanting to medicate him. I said no. Whether they did is unknown to me, but I can say the care he had wasn't good. They started to bring in hospice care patients who needed a lot of care. They weren't hiring more people which meant that the dementia patients were not getting the attention they needed. I liked the place at first but saw it going down hill towards the end of 2024. I would not recommend this place for a dementia patient. Maybe for assisted liv…

Positiveaccommodating a gluten free diet or celiac disease would have been most helpful in my search
The value for cost is a borderline 5. Vitalia is a bit pricier than some similar facilities, but also would deal with my mom's gluten allergy when others wouldn't. What we like the most about the community is Easy to navigate in the building, not a maze of narrow hallways like some older facilities. Clean & tidy. Close to my house. Accommodating a gluten free diet

CriticalPlease don’t send your loved one here
This facility is: Unsafe Understaffed Poorly managed Has 11 current state citations Incapable a caring for those with real medical issues Do not be fooled by the chandeliers and the smiles at the door. The building is not a good fit for anyone that cannot care for themselves or has memory impairment.

Not a good experience as far as the nursing director [name removed] was Completely non-responsive and inept. Working wouldn't return a call and did not coordinate care as promised. And the director is a good talker but doesn't back it up. Direct care staff was great, facility is nice and meals are good but would not recommend. Good place if your loved one doesn't need much help/care. Not a good place for more complex issues. Poor coordination of care.

PositiveOverall a nice place (I think)
It gets more pricey by the amount of "issues" the resident has. Memory care at Vitalia doesn't have nursing care per se...at least I don't believe so. My dad's room has a bathroom and a closet. You have to bring your own furnishing they do your laundry and supposedly clean your room once a week but right now they're shorthanded.
