High turnover of staff, and administration

Make sure you do your due diligence on this place. We had our parents here and the first administrator. [name removed] was fabulous and so was the staff after she left. Everything went downhill.. we have since had two administrators with the latest one, [name removed] always complaining to residents . everyone is overworked and they are understaffed. You can tell the difference in the staffs attitude. No one seems happy . The activities are basic not very engaging , and the call bell response is now very long. When…

Yorktown Assisted Living - a 5-star facility

Yorktown Assisted Living has all of the best aspects of a warm, loving and caring home. Residents' rave about the incredible quality of the cuisine. The list of activities is too long to list here but it certainly gives residents many intellectual challenges. I must also mention the many live music performances residents enjoy each week and special events such as Casino Night. The staff, all professionally trained and loving, take excellent care of all residents and housekeeping keeps the entire facility spotless.

Hi, my 89 year old father moved here over 6 weeks ago from the Firemen’s Home in Hudson, NY. He’s from the local area and wanted to be closer to family and friends. And also wanted his own living space, which he never had for the past 11 months at the Firemen’s Home. My Dad is confined to a wheelchair, can’t walk and has severe osteoarthritis. My 83 year old cousin came to YAL Memory Unit in March because her dementia was worsening& she needed more care than her Assisted Living Facility upstate NY could offer I got a warm vibe the minute I walked into YAL. Our loved one has been a resident in memory care at Yorktown Assisted Living (YAL) for almost 2 years. Making the decision to move him from home to Yorktown was very difficult and emotional but he needed the safety and care that he has at YAL. He has adjusted very positively. Happy with Yorktown Assisted Living

My mom has been at Yorktown Assisted Living for almost a year and a half. She is on the Memory Care Unit. She moved in shortly after my father passed away. We have been so happy with the residence. The staff is very attentive and caring. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Walking in the front entrance you immediately feel like home. My mom enjoys the variety of food. There are always activities.
