I lived at Alta Ridge [dates removed]

During my stay the food was prepared by chef, and it was excellent. We had some fun activities. The Olympics was my favorite. I really enjoyed playing cards with the activities director and my friends. The activities were more simple, as many of the residents have difficulty using their hands. I prefer more advanced crafts (I was not satisfied with the activities, because of that) I made many good friends at Alta Ridge.

Transitions are hard

When we initially toured the facility, everything seemed great. But by the time we were moving in a week later, we could see that there were some noticeable problems—like a broken AC system throughout the facility. In a few days it was fixed, but other changes became clear—most notably, the food. All of these differences were tied to new ownership. The nice food and full dining room we saw initially was replaced by very bland food. And the list of 8 or so options (for the times the resident didn’t want the main mea…

Our Experience

We chose this facility because it was the best we could find in our price range. The food could've been better. The first activities Director left about halfway through my mom's stay and there were a few months with no activities. However, the new activities Director was great when she got on board. At the end of my mom's stay, the facility changed ownership, so it may be different now. The facility was very receptive to my suggestions and extremely sweet at the end when my mom was on hospice.

They offer shared rooms, which can cut the cost down considerably. They are very responsive, with concerns or issues.

Facility was adequate but a bit dated. Rooms were fairly small. Very little storage space. Kitchenette and fridge small

Not what I expected when I first walked in. It doesn't look or smell like any other facility I've been in. The residents were clean and looked their best, the facility was clean and smelled like a home. Staff was very engaging with the residents. Very impressed!
