American House Sterling Meadows Senior Living

I felt this place was lacking in cleanliness and was very dated and dirty. Extremely sad looking. Public bathrooms for visitors were disgusting.

Welcoming community and management"

The manager, Alan is wonderful, they accept PACE even though it's not a nursing home. When my Dad broke his hip both the in-house nurse and the PACE nurse were very helpful. Transportation goes above and beyond. It's a nice, middle ground community.

Their nursing staff there is terrible. I had to move mom somewhere else for more care. Other than that I loved the place! As long as you don't have to hire the nursing care. I wish she were still there.

After touring this facility, we signed my sister here. Unfortunately she became ill before we were to move her in. The staff at American House went out of their way to keep her apartment open and check with us from her recovery She is now able to move in and we are so looking forward to this. The staff had made her feel very welcome and we are confident this is the best place for her. We can't thank them enough.

Taking mom to meet new friends.

My mother has some memory issues and living alone was becoming more challenging for her. She had been spending more and more time alone since her husbend had passed four years ago. She was against leaving her home at first, but she quickly warmed up to living at American House Sterling Meadows. Not having to cook for herself anymore was a huge selling pointe her. The facility was good and the Director and Supervisors were great to deal with! There was a lot of staff turnover and at times not enough of good training. The housekeeping staff did a great job and they were very nice to deal with. The food was average. I would recommend more training and supervision of the staff. Also, if the same aids could be assigned to the same patients, they then know what each patient requires. I think that would be a great help for the staff and patient! But overall, the cost was much lowe…
