CriticalDo not let anyone do an evaluation of the residents condition, other than their PRIMARY care doctors. And be CONSISTENT with visitations if possible. I just feel that families should be aware to not put all faith In the in-house doctors or advocates to speak on your family members behalf. And there are a few things that can go neglected because family do not stay connected with their loved one or visit often enough to see for themselves how their family member feels.

PositiveMy parents were in the independent living cottages, so they did not technically receive care. However, the staff was kind and caring and would provide limited care as needed (e.g., if Dad fell, Mom could call and someone would come to their aid. I cannot be sure about the value as we did not compare so much. We chose what was proximal and it is a lovely community. I did forget to mention that my parents, sadly, did not participate in the activities due to their health statuses. Dad became largely confined to a whee…
