Nestled into the quiet community of Lawrence, Kansas, Arbor Court Retirement Community at Alvamar provides a relaxing place to enjoy your retirement. If you want to maintain an independent lifestyle, our 55+ community may be a great fit for you. Plus, we’re pet friendly! We’re close to The Orchards Executive Golf Course, The Lawrence Hidden Valley Camp, museums, shopping, and restaurants. Lawrence is also home to the University of Kansas, where you can take in a basketball game or watch a theatrical performance. Community Amenities and Services Our community spaces are warm and inviting. You’ll be able to play pool, shuffleboard, or other games with your friends and neighbors, relax and enjoy good conversation in front of our fireplace, or enjoy the fresh air on our covered deck and patio spaces. We offer group exercise classes, and we regularly schedule events and other entertainment for you to enjoy. You’ll have the option to join us for a continental breakfast and gourmet lunch, served daily. Our community is designed to make life easy for you. We have elevators to give you easy access to higher floors, laundry facilities, and on-site storage you can take advantage of. We also offer recycling on site and wifi throughout our building’s common areas. You can schedule your next haircut at our on-site beauty and barber shop. We’ll gladly take care of housekeeping for you, and we can schedule transportation for an outing for you if you’d like. Your health is important to us, so we have staff available 24 hours a day should you need it. We’ll also provide you with an emergency pendant, so you can get help easily. If you need any home health services, outside agencies can come to our community to help you — and you’ll be able to use the agency of your choice. Living Arrangements Arbor Court Retirement Community has studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments for you to choose from. Every apartment has a fully equipped kitchen and individual heating and cooling. Whether you want a lot of space, or a little, we’re sure you’ll feel at home in no time. Should be in your finalists for senior independent living.

My husband and I have lived here for 8 months. The staff is ALWAYS friendly, which has a huge effect. Nobody ever says, "That is not my job." or, "I am too busy." The residents are mostly very friendly and it is not hard to feel at home and welcome. The food is abundant and flavorful while keeping in mind that it is not personalized to each resident. The apartment is adequate in size, keeping given that residents have to navigate the space and many/most have some physical challenge and use a walker/wheel chair, etc…

I would give Arbor Court a 5 for all. What our family likes the most about the community is the friendliness of the staff... and lots of activities. Parking is a benefit too. Since my sis has a walker, everything is close enough she can get around.

Absolutely a top notch facility and staff

I cannot say enough about the wonderful experience my mother had living at Arbor Court. [name removed]and [name removed]are the most professional and caring administrators one could meet. My mother lived on her own for over 40 years and we were concerned that she might have difficulty fitting in and adjusting to the lifestyle there. Instead my mother blossomed. Mom has found HOME!

My mom has been at Arbor Court for more than six-months. She enjoys so many things about Arbor Court. It is a clean facility with a lot of natural light in the common areas. She enjoys the meals and does not like to miss them, ever! The icing on the cake is the staff. They are all very caring and supportive They are quick to let us know if they notice anything that might be a concern. I have recommended Arbor Court to many of my friends looking for a place for a loved one to live.
